Prof. Cung-Ping Yang, Prof. Betty Zhang and some local social workers were leading us on the “Mayage’s Road.” Mayage, the Chinese name of James Laidlaw Maxwell, was one of the earliest missionary in Taiwan. While his preach was unsuccessful in Tainan, the main city at that time, he went to the small villages in the mountain between Tainan and Kaohsiung and started this preach there again. The road on which he was travelling is still there. Today we are following Jakarta’s way to experience the local culture, natural scene, and the historical remains in this area.
