Technology Design + ADADA @ NCTU

I just finished my flute concert this year in Hsinchu, in a historical remains – the sixth fuel factory, which is built by Japanese during the WWII. The building was later used for KMT army’s stay after the war. However, since KMT has never been able to “recover” mainland China, the solders staying in this building have to build their homes in the factory. “Buldings in the building” is therefore a unique architectural feature of this historical remains.

This year is the 100 year anniversary of the most famous design school, Bauhaus. We are very happy to have Prof. Dr. Schawelka Prof. Dr. Gronert from Bauhaus Weimar to give speeches in NCKU!
… 100 year anniversary of BAUHAUS
We are at Taiwan Car Lab experiencing the autonomous car developed by the NCKU (department of electronic engineering, Prof. Jyh-Chin Juang’s research team). We also got a very nice introduction from Dr. Longyao Zhang about how Taiwan Car Lab is organizing and serving their “driving classes” as well as “driving tests” for autonomous cars from all over the world.

4 teams from NCKU were attending to the international design workshop and competition, D-Camp. This workshop started in March and was hosted in Taiwan at NCKU. Students from South Korea, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, and Indonesia, have to build international teams and finish their design work in six months. The final presentation is located in Daejeon, South Korea, and students from NCKU bring back two Bronze prices – not a very satisfying result, but they really enjoyed this international experience in design.

International Conference for Asia Digital Art and Design will be hold in NCKU, in the Department of Industrial Design.
