Stepping Stone
When traveling to a new town, we often let our selves oriented by online information. Whether a found information is trustworth can be difficult to identify for new travelers. More often, we like to read personal and authentic sharing and avoid sponsed posts. However, it is still difficult to distinguish them.
Stepping Stone provides an alternative channel to get information. It is designed for the traveler with public transportations means and encourages them to take an adventure. The service machines are located at train or bus stations and show different written cards in the window. Travelers’ commentaries or reviews are written on the card, and each card represents a location that is currently unknown to users. Users can initialize the service by installing APP and selecting the first card and a stone from the machine. When the card is selected, it drops from the window – one card can only be used by one user. By scanning the QR code on the backside, users get the location information of the described place.
After the users have visited the place and come back to a bus station, they can ask the machine to give them a blank card to write down their own experience. The new card can be returned to the machine for sharing their experience with the next user. In this case, they can select a next card displayed in the window to start their next adventure.
