This is a foundational design course for the first-year design students.
2018 – on-going
In Design Basics, we introduce new design students to the fundamental principles of design theory and practice. Through hands-on tasks and explorations, students develop essential skills in ideation, concept presentation, material experimentation, and creative problem-solving.
To ensure that students from diverse backgrounds and with different strengths can confidently step into the world of design, our assignments emphasize a wide range of abilities, including observation, aesthetics, creativity, logical thinking, exploration, and spatial awareness. This course provides a solid foundation for students to build their design mindset and skillset, preparing them for further creative challenges.
For each year, students may have different subjects for their practical work.
